SUMMARY:Bishop Auckland\, January 18th 2019
DESCRIPTION:Jason Cook\, Jack Carroll & Host Andy Fury\nShow details:\n \nJason Cook\nJason Cook is the brains behind hit BBC sitcom 'Hebburn'\, UKTV's 'Murder on the Blackpool Express'\, and several hit BBC Radio shows\, including Radio 4’s "Jason Cook's School of Hard Knocks". He is also one of the best stand-up comedians working in the UK today. \nBe ready for pretty much anything when Jason takes to the stage. Behind his cheerful Geordie exterior lurks a dark\, sharp comedic mind capable of taking an unsuspecting audience to places they didn’t want to go. Dwarves\, newspaper vendors\, the toilets at raves\, true-to-life stories that drag you in and won’t let go. Cook is close to the edge but always intriguing and blessed with the sort of charm that’ll have you laughing in spite of yourself. \nAs well as writing and staring in his own hit sitcom\, Jason's been renowned as one of the best stand-up comedians on the circuit for years. In 2007\, Jason took his first solo stand up show to the Edinburgh Fringe\, selling out for the bulk of the run\, and earning 5 star reviews. He then embarked on a sell out world tour and scooped the coveted "Best International Show" at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival\, an award previously won by Eddie Izzard and Stephen K Amos. \n“A wonderfully life-affirming\, beautifully crafted\, total and utter joy. My jaw aches from laughing” - Time Out \n“Conclusively proves he can produce an hour of joyously uplifting and playfully honest hilarity simply from being a damn fine comedian” - Chortle \n“Continues to carve a rich\, deep\, consistent groove of humour at the Fringe” - The Scotsman \n  \n \nJack Carroll\nJack became an overnight stand-up sensation after reaching the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. His first audition on the ITV show has received over 20 million views on YouTube so far. Jack eventually came second on the show at just 14 years old and has since worked with the likes of Jason Manford and Vic Reeves\, while also performing stand-up on shows such as ITV1’s Sunday Night At The Palladium and It’s Been A Funny Old Week. Most recently\, he performed on the world famous series Live At The Apollo. He’s also appeared on CBBC shows such as The Dog Ate My Homework and 4 O’Clock Club. \nJack\, whose cerebral palsy is often the subject of his act\, was awarded a Pride of Britain Award in 2012 in the “Teenager of Courage” category. Jack opened for Jason Manford at three of his tour shows in 2010 as well as performing with him in 2013\, and opening Jason’s tour show First World Problems at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. Jack has performed at various clubs and live events across the country\, cementing his place on the national comedy circuit. Summer 2016 saw Jack perform as part of the Pleasance Comedy Reserve\, his debut appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe. \n “...A galloping comic tour de force” - Radio Times \n“A revelation” - The Telegraph \n“He’s saying what no one else can; it’s hilarious” - The Guardian \n  \n \nAndy Fury\nDespite starting comedy out of “sheer boredom” just a few years ago\, Andy Fury has impressed a lot of people in a short space of time with a wonderful mix of self-deprecating dark jokes and off the wall surrealism. \nWith a laidback stage presence that sometimes borders horizontal\, he’s as hard-working as he is funny and winning the Hilarity Bites New Act Of The Year 2010 title has put Andy on the path to working at many of the best clubs in the country\, wowing audiences the length and breadth of the UK. \n“An absolute genius of a comedian” - BBC \n“Brilliant... The next Pub Landlord of comedy” - Hexham Courant \n“A very funny man with a big future ahead of him” - Corby Radio \n  \nThis show will also feature a newer act in the middle. \n  \n\nBuy tickets:\nTickets for this show are only available in person from Bishop Auckland Town Hall\, or telephone 03000 269 524 \n
