SUMMARY:Bishop Auckland\, December 21st 2018
DESCRIPTION:Tanyalee Davis\, Kelsey de Almeida\, Ruth Cockburn & Host Matt Reed\nShow details:\n \nTanyalee Davis\nStanding at 3' 6" tall\, Tanyalee is the Ferrari of comedy - low to the ground and kind of racy. Canadian born\, Tanyalee currently makes the stage her home while touring all over the world bringing the funny! \nFrom January to June 2011\, Tanyalee performed her very successful one-woman show called “Little Comedian\, BIG Laughs” just off the Las Vegas strip\, four nights a week for six months. Since then Tanyalee has gone on to support Frankie Boyle on his UK tour\, star in numerous TV shows\, and guest on The Last Leg. \n2015 saw her UK Television prime-time debut when she appeared on BBC1’s The John Bishop Show\, quickly followed by her amazing debut on BBC2's Live At The Apollo Christmas Special. Both of these dazzling performances saw her stock as a headline comic rise to even greater heights! \n “Tanyalee Davis is simply one of the funniest people I know. She has a unique view of the world and if you haven't seen her I urge to go\, sit back\, relax and laugh” - John Bishop \n“Joan Rivers meets a pile-driver” - The Scotsman \n“A master of physical punctuation” - The Las Vegas Sun \n  \n \nKelsey de Almeida\nKelsey is one of the youngest working comedians in the UK. Having supported Stephen K Amos on 3 UK tours\, Abandoman on their 2017 UK tour\, and recently won 'Best Newcomer' at the Southend Comedy Festival - it's clear to see why The Stand Comedy Club described him as being "Definitely one to watch". \n“Opened for me on tour\, a superb act to follow. Blown away by his funny\, they loved him. Catch him now\, he's got it” - Stephen K Amos \n“Destined to be absolutely huge. Charming and disarming\, he held the audience in the palm of his hand and made them helpless with laughter. He puts wit and polish centre stage” - Julia Chamberlain \n“Wins the audience over immediately with a combination of great material and confidence” - Glee Club \n  \n \nRuth Cockburn\nRuth has been writing comedy sketches and plays since she graduated in 2005 from Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre\, where she studied acting. Her comedy plays have been performed in numerous festivals including Sydney"s "Short & Sweet" Festival\, Lost Theatre companies One Act Festival\, Buxton Fringe and Edinburgh Fringe. Her play "Saturday Boy" was also nominated for Best new writing in Buxtons" Fringe 2008. \nShe began performing stand up comedy in May 2008. In her first year she was a "Funny Women" semi-finalist\, "So You Think You're Funny?" semi-finalist\, and came third in Mirth on Monday"s new act competition. \n “Ruth's comedy is a particularly potent mix of spot-on\, slightly surreal social commentary and brilliantly inventive\, hummable and instantly hilarious songs” - Spotlight Comedy \n“Highly recommended” - Stoon Buxton Fringe \n“Both clever and hilarious in style” - EdFringe \n  \n \nMatt Reed\nBorn and bred in Sunderland\, Matt's affable style has won him fans across the UK. He effortlessly plays with the crowd with a natural rapport that is found in few comics. Matt\, always ready\, never disappointing will always make a good gig - great. \nIn 2015 Matt took his debut show to the Edinburgh Fringe\, retelling the four year ordeal of how he was stalked and cat-fished by an online admirer. The show won rave reviews from critics and audience alike\, with Matt playing to sell-out audiences. \nWith so many gigs of every size under his belt\, from audiences of 3000 to 30\, there is pretty much no comedy situation Matt can't handle. As pleasant as he is wonderfully brutal\, Matt is a welcome addition to any comedy night entertaining the crowd while skillfully destroying any heckler that crosses his path. \n “Absolutely hilarious... had the crowd rolling around” - BBC \n“Brilliant... always original one of the newest stars of comedy” - The Leeds Guide \n“Brilliantly handled a very difficult room\, this fashionably unkempt lad will go far” - Swansea Telegraph \n  \n\nBuy tickets:\nTickets for this show are only available in person from Bishop Auckland Town Hall\, or telephone 03000 269 524 \n
